Altered Ring box

Hi all,
Lulupu announced that....they are celebrating 4th birthday and new challenge is, to create a  birthday related piece of art I knew what I wanted to do
I usually try to show you something more paper-based, mixed media and altered art. This time I wanted to make something small, cute, girly and more from the home decor area. :)
A little mixed-media ring box and birthday tag.

My first project is a tag with an birthday theme. I've used a Prima butterfly 6X6 paper collection. And cream card-stock as my base, adding layers of papers and Prima stamped images then highlighted the paper edges with distress Ink. Glitter beads gems and Prima glass glitters which gives an amazing finish.

I made flowers too by using these beautiful papers
My second project is a box. I started by added beads, flowers, tiny metal charms etc. Then covering it with black and white gesso. I used a clear crackle on the top surface is uneven and has a bit of texture. And then I started playing with Prima mica powders.

I decorated this box inside with some small embellishments, and I tried to make it as girly and delicate, some mixed rich colors covered with glass glitters, a beautiful surprise box from the "Tresure" collection,

I really like the final look and I think it can be a great and very unique way to pack some gift for a friend or just to keep some little treasures on the shelf. Using media is always a great joy for me and the effect is always one of a kind.

  4. This is sheer gorgeousness., Suzna. I admire your mixed media work a lot. And I'm sure whoever receives this birthday gift and tag set would cherish it fondly.
But I'm sorry to say, that March month's challenge at Lulupu was to create either a card or a layout. So, we won't be able to consider this entry this time.
Thank you for sharing your lovely work with us at Lulupu and inspiring all. :)
